# Agent Instructions — CentralDesk

This document describes how AI agents can interact with CentralDesk and act
on behalf of CentralDesk subscribers. CentralDesk is a subscription platform
for Amazon sellers and agencies, not a storefront — there is no product
catalog, cart, or checkout flow for an agent to operate. Instead, CentralDesk
exposes an MCP (Model Context Protocol) server that lets an agent read a
subscriber's live Amazon account data, and take a specific set of actions
(campaign and ticket management; see Important Rules below), on their
behalf.

## What CentralDesk Is

CentralDesk (https://centraldesk.io) is an all-in-one platform for Amazon
sellers and agencies. It provides expert Seller Central support, agency-grade
PPC management, sales reporting, Brand Analytics, catalog health monitoring,
and an MCP server for AI assistants.

## For AI Assistants Acting On Behalf Of A Subscriber

If your user is a CentralDesk subscriber, they can connect you to their
account through the CentralDesk MCP server. Once connected, you can:

- Query live Amazon sales data (revenue, units, ASIN-level performance)
- Review catalog health scores and open alerts
- Access Brand Analytics data, including Search Query Performance and Market Basket
- Read the Daily Brief for account health and performance summaries
- Check PPC campaign performance and spend
- Pause or enable ad campaigns, set campaign budgets, and add negative keywords
- Open support tickets and add comments to existing tickets

### MCP Server Access

MCP server access is included on the Starter plan and above (Starter, Basic,
Advanced) — not on the Support, Sales, or Analytics plans, which are scoped
to Seller Central support, sales reporting, and Brand Analytics respectively.
Subscribers connect their MCP client using OAuth 2.1 with PKCE. Most
subscribers don't need an API key at all: in their assistant, they add a
custom connector pointing at https://centraldesk.io/app/mcp/, sign in, and
approve access. Setup instructions and (for clients that need one) an API
key are on the subscriber's Profile page, under "AI Assistant API Keys
(MCP)."

### Important Rules

- **All actions require subscriber authorization.** Do not query account
data, or take any action, without the account holder's explicit connection
  and consent.
- **Most tools are read-only, but not all.** A specific subset takes real
action on the subscriber's live Amazon account or CentralDesk data:
pausing or enabling ad campaigns, setting campaign budgets, adding
negative keywords, opening support tickets, adding ticket comments, and
updating brand search term configuration. Call `get_server_info` for the
current, authoritative tool list and check each tool's own description
before calling it -- don't assume a tool is read-only.
- **Confirm before acting.** For any tool that changes a live campaign,
budget, keyword, ticket, or configuration, confirm the specific action
with the subscriber first unless they've already stated exactly what to
  do.
- **Respect rate limits.** Back off on 429 responses.
- **Don't guess at account identity.** If a query could apply to more than
one connected account, ask which account before answering.
